After its creator is arrested for illegal experiments, Subject 626 manages to escape to a small Hawaiian island on Earth. There, the little blue alien meets Lilo, who warmly accepts him into her family. Disguised as a dog named Stitch, he finds shelter there and, together with Lilo, is even able to convince the council president of his home planet to be allowed to stay on earth.
