Time’s Up! Party is the perfect party game to play with friends or family. Unlike some other games, it requires no encyclopaedic knowledge to have fun. A bit of cleverness, a bit of attention, a bit of memory, and that's it! To offer a new experience each time, the Party version offers updated content with celebrities and characters from your favourite movies, television series, books, and more.
Setup
Time's Up! Party is a team game which is played over the course of three rounds. On each round, guess as many cards as you can!
First, form teams of at least two players and choose whether the game will use the yellow or black side of the cards.
Deal 40 cards between all players. Each player secretly looks at their cards. If a card is not to the player's liking (for being too complex, unknown to them, or any other reason), they can trade that card for a new one.
When everyone has read their cards, create a deck by shuffling together every player's cards. Choose a team to be the starting team.
The game can now begin!
First Round: Speak Freely
In this round, a player has the length of a sand timer to get their team to guess as many cards as possible.
The player draws the first card and can say whatever they want, provided the words used don't derive from the same words that appear on the card, translate the card into another language, spell the card using sounds or letters, etc.
Their team can make as many guesses as they want. That team will score a point for every word that is guessed correctly.
When the time is up, the player passes the deck of cards to the next team, who continue with the current card.
When all cards have been guessed, total up how many cards each team has guessed correctly and move onto the next round!
Second Round: One Word
Shuffle the 40 cards from the previous round.
This round is very similar to the first round, but this time the player who is giving clues can only speak a single word per card, their team can only make a single guess per card, and the clue-giver can now choose to skip a card.
When the time is up, the player passes the deck of cards, along with the current card and all others that were guessed in correctly, to the next team. The deck is then shuffled.
When all cards have been guessed, total up how many cards each team has guessed correctly and move onto the next round!
Third Round: Mime
Shuffle the 40 cards from the previous round.
This round very similar to the previous one, but this time the player giving the clues must mime the cards. They can hum and make sound effects, but they are no longer allowed to speak.
When all of the cards have been guessed, write down the number of cards found by each team.
The game is over! The team who guessed the most cards during all three rounds wins the game.
